How to take care of your lingerieTiffany's Pink Online lingerie and Cosmetics Shop
Most people love to cut away the tags from their lingerie since they just don’t look very sexy. We suggest that you take a look at the fabric and washing label before you snip them off. More often than not, the sales person will advise you to hand wash them regardless of the material because this is the safest way. This may be true but if you read the washing label, you will discover that some fabrics can actually withstand the tumbling from the machine. This will surely help you to save some time and effort.
1. Wash your new lingerie before wearing them, even though it may be a brand new piece. For sanitary reasons and to rid the new garments of potential chemical residue, it is a good idea to wash new lingerie. So, be kind to your skin, just wash them before wearing.
2.Soak the garments for no more than 1/2 hour in light detergent.Depending on where you live, the brands and types of detergent may vary, but pick the one that is easy to dissolve. Mix the detergent with water before adding the lingerie. Make sure that your lingerie is evenly soaked or you might end up having colour blotches.
3.Do not mix light and dark colours, wash the them separately.Yes, this is a basic rule but we still do this when we are feeling lazy.
4. Take off any removable buckles or anything else that doesn’t belong in the lingerie wash bowl or bucket. This helps prevent rust spots forming on delicate lingerie.
5.Wash padded areas carefully.Pay attention to the areas that trap sweat and wash them thoroughly or they may give you some nasty rashes the next time you wear them.
6.Do not squash the bra or padding while washing it, as it could spoil the shape.Just press them gently. Put the cup of the bra in the centre of one palm and use your fist from the other hand to press against the cup, this will drain out the water without spoiling
7.Rinse the garment thoroughly, most people do not pay attention to this step.Detergents can weaken the fibers of the material and not rinsing them properly just speeds up the erosion.
8.Hang up the lingerie to dry if possible. If not either dry on a flat surface or clip the straps and the middle portion of the bra with a peg on to a clothes line.
9.It is better to Use a lingerie bag when drying your delicates in a clothes dryer. Please note some fabrics should not be tumble dried, please check the label carefully.
10.Storing them in their original shape is the best way to preserve the shape.Fold them or hang them on lingerie hangers.
